Crew Meeting Summary!

Howdy everypony!

At our last crew meeting we went over the promos that will be released in the coming weeks leading into post-production.  We will be releasing a tutorial on how to animate our pony puppets, Zach will be narrating a Double Rainboom update promo to let everyone know how the project is going, and we will be releasing a trailer.  It will take about two or three weeks before the next promo will be released though.

We also met our shot quota this week! (Despite finals at SCAD)  Which means we are on track for finishing Double Rainboom!

Crew Meeting Update!

At the crew meeting today we critique all the work being done, discussed the next promo that will be coming out soon, and saw banner ideas for Equestria Daily.  We’re nearly done with our backgrounds, believe it or not, which is why there isn’t much artwork to post out here for you guys.  We have 20 shots left that are ready for character animation until we get all of our dialogue in and all puppet building is complete.  So things are going well!

Crew Meeting Update!

We just got out of our weekly online crew meeting!  We looked at some of the work we’ve done on backgrounds, puppets, and shots and critiqued as we went along.  In the next week we hope to release our next promo, so we went over what it will look like and made a banner to go up on Equestia Daily when it’s released.  We also just got some great new audio from Rinachan and have been working on all the shots with the newly recorded dialogue!

Crew Meeting Update!

We just got out of our weekly online crew meeting where we went over all of our completed animatics, critiqued shots, looked through new backgrounds, and went over new puppet tests.  All of the puppet tests we have gotten from our crew members will be compiled into a new promo that will be released in another week!  We also got to review detailed character designs for the unnamed Double Rainboom monster.

Ultra-Super-Big Online Crew Meeting Summary

Howdy everypony!

Our first online meeting was so big that we couldn’t figure out how to get everyone in on an audio discussion, so Zach chatted away on livestream and we all typed back in one big Skype chatroom.  We had 39 people in attendance from all over the world!  All-in-all, in went really well.

For the first time, all of our online crew members got to see all the work that’s been done on Double Rainboom, including our animatics, storyboards, backgrounds, and animated shots.  We also went over our pipeline and how the project has developed over time from The Ballad of Mecha Pinkie Pie and Present Prank.  We then recorded who need what files and who was interested in doing what kind of work.

Right now we’re working on version 1.1 for our Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle puppets for our next web-release.  There will also be some new backgrounds and updates of our crew and contact pages.

Crew Meeting Updates

Animators get ready!  As soon as Rainbow Dash is done we can start handing out shots!  We only have a limited number of shots without dialogue though, so if you don’t get a shot this time, we will make sure you get one over the summer.

At the last meeting Zach also announced that part 3 is going to be completely scrapped and re-boarded. But don’t worry, Lenny, one of our fantastic storyboard artists, is on it!

We also saw some incredible backgrounds, progress on some animated shots of Twilight Sparkle, and a nearly complete animatic for part 2.

We have been amazed by all the tests we’ve been getting of the Twilight Sparkle puppet.  We really appreciate your feedback and help finding any flaws, keep it coming!

Howdy everypony!

At our last crew meeting we went over our Twilight puppet and we realized that it still needs the back 3 quarters!  It isn’t priority right now, but a version 2 will be available in the future.  We really appreciate all the excellent feedback we have been getting and Zach’s amazed no one's discovered any problems.

We also have an awesome new background lead who did the staging study of Twilight’s bedroom (which will be released in a couple weeks).  She also stepped up to help us block out all the backgrounds in the bedroom because the camera angles were confusing us.  Great job and congratulations Jourdan!

At the meeting, we also saw some fantastic Ponyville backgrounds.  Prepare to be amazed!

Howdy everypony!

At our local crew meeting on Friday we saw Twilight Sparkle’s puppet progress and it was almost done! With any luck, and a sleepless night from our director, we will have the puppet ready for animating and web-release Monday! We have already assigned shots for animation and in the next two weeks we will be animating with both Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash!

We are also rockin’ and rollin’ on backgrounds, polishing up part 3’s boards with background rough, roughs and ready to composite the shots for part 2 and 5 into an animatic. All the shots with Twilight Sparkle are rarin’ to go, with animatics for part 1, 4, and 6! We will be releasing some of part 1’s backgrounds, p1 storyboards, concept art, and our promotional poster here soon!

We also have a new background lead! Congratulations Megan! Her expertise will be crutial for getting the look and feel of Double Rainboom just right!

Zach is also being interviewed and as soon as he gets a chance to breath after all this puppet making, he will be releasing his Q & A session! So keep an eye out!
